Mozilla Firefox Security Shortcoming

Mozilla Firefox is one of the most secure browsers. I am surprised to see that it has not been able to fix its website to redirect its users of old versions to the latest version or atleast warn them that their version of firefox is outdated and can contain security vulnerabilities. The following page illustrates the problem.

http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/2.0/whatsnew/

which is the default page on version 2.0 of firefox. It says in clear bold letters that you have been updated to the latest version of firefox, which cannot be further from truth.

Firefox maintains the 2.0.x series with security and stability updates. Users do not have to upgrade to Firefox 3.0.x until 2.0.x support ends near the end of this year.

It is very possible for users to be on Firefox 2.0.x and be fully up to date with the latest security patches.

This is not true. On my EEE pc, firefox version is 2.0.0.9 and is not updated as it is not straight forward to update it. But every time I start firefox on it, it shows me this page which wrongly conveys that I have the latest version.
